UNICEF Change for Good ProgramSmall change goes a long way...
You've just been travelling on safari in Africa and returned home with lots of loose change from 5 different countries. What do you do with it? Dump it somewhere at home? Hold onto it for the next time you go to Africa? Make better use of your change and put it towards a good cause.
UNICEF Change for Good is an in-flight fundraising program that takes place on Qantas and the OneWorld Alliance flights.
UNICEF Change for Good is a simple concept: the program invites Qantas passengers to deposit spare change or notes in any currency into UNICEF envelopes on Qantas and OneWorld Alliance flights. Qantas staff collects this and UNICEF uses these donations for its projects to support the world's most vulnerable children.
Passengers welcome the program as it frees them of unwanted foreign currency (most passengers find it hard to convert small amounts of foreign coins when they return home), and UNICEF welcomes it as this small change goes a long way in providing health, education and protection to the world's children.
UNICEF Change for Good currently runs on approximately 3500 Qantas international and domestic flights per week.
QANTAS started the program in 1991, and was the first OneWorld alliance airline to adopt UNICEF Change for Good.
