Outback Ballooning has been operating in Alice Springs since 1986, and is one of Australia's largest and longest established ballooning companies. They operate every day, weather permitting.
Your ballooning adventure begins in the cool pre-dawn darkness as you are picked up from your accommodation in Alice Springs. Once floating gently in the air, you will appreciate the vast remoteness of the Australian outback. Wildlife, particularly big red kangaroos, are seen nearly every day as the balloon crosses spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and cattle stations.
Desert Quads operate morning and afternoon small group guided quad bike tours seven days a week, with the flexibility to operate additional tours on demand. A courtesy vehicle will pick up and drop off at all accommodation houses in Alice Springs, and also the airport. Tours commence near the start of the famous Finke Desert Race, and travel a variety of different tracks throughout Owen Springs Station, which covers almost 3,000 square kilometres - the equivalent size of a small country in Europe! You may travel alongside the old Ghan line that was once used to link Alice Springs to Adelaide, or ride to what seems like the middle of no-where with a chance to spot kangaroos, emus and birdlife... each tour is a unique experience.
And a visit to the Red Centre wouldn't be complete without a camel ride! Camels are great characters and provide ideal transport to explore the peaceful natural surrounds of the Todd River with its varied plants and wildlife. Enjoy the colours of the strikingly beautiful River Red Gums and the MacDonnell Ranges. Dismount at the Frontier Camel Farm and visit the camel display, camel shop and kangaroo enclosure before enjoying a scrumptious home-cooked three course dinner at Humpfree's Restaurant.
