Every day of the year, more than 160,000 Aussies are driving around Australia, having the time of their lives. The popular term for these guys is grey nomads but you don't necessarily have to be grey to live like a nomad. All you've got to do is join the club. The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) has nearly 50,000 members and is Australia's largest recreational vehicle club. Membership costs just $44 per year (plus $16.50 joining fee).

Every year CMCA members come from far and wide to attend two national motorhome rallies. The first major rally, the Anniversary Rally takes place in April/May and the second one is in September/October. The next one will be held in Forbes, NSW from 15-21 October 2007.

Both rallies have special interest activities including training seminars, craft lessons, major entertainment, skit nights, disc bowls competitions and trade exhibits including vehicles, motorhome accessories and services. The rallies are rotated between the States, A.C.T. and Northern Territory.

The rallies have been going for 21 years and as an indication of their growing popularity, the Club's Anniversary and National Rallies now attract from 700 to 1,400-plus vehicles.

In addition to the two big rallies, CMCA members have formed local Chapters (or Groups) throughout Australia to increase opportunities to meet and socialise. There are currently 85 Chapters representing every State, A.C.T. and Northern Territory and most Chapters get together on a regular basis.

Within the Club there are also groups of CMCA Members sharing like minded interests. Some examples are: - The Solos, Radio Network, Off-road Network, The Big Rigs Clan and National Fifth Wheelers. And they all share the common motto of the club: "Laugh More - Live Longer".
