The Whitsunday passage is reputed to have some of the most popular and safe sailing waters to be found in Australia. Although Captain Cook claimed that you could sail around all 74 Whitsunday islands in a month, now there is a more indulgent and 21st century option to explore these beautiful islands; on a three-night luxury crewed Sunsail catamaran. There are around 74 islands in the Whitsundays, including resort islands such as

Daydream,
Lindeman,
Long,
Brampton and
Hook Island. The remaining islands are uninhabited with the majority being forested National Parks and virtually untouched tropical paradises.
A typical luxury crewed Sunsail cruise may include a stop at the most famous beach in the Whitsundays, the picture-postcard Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. Famed for its six-kilometre stretch of sand, which is around 99.89% pure quartz ground down to micro-size particles, it's no wonder it is consistently voted one of the world's top three beaches.
As the Whitsundays enjoy a warm, tropical climate all year round with the occasional tropical shower from December through February, Humpback Whales are known to frolic in the calm waters between July and September as they pass through the Whitsundays on their annual migration. However, all year round the Whitsundays' water is filled with the likes of bewitching coral, an array of tropical fish, turtles, dolphins, dugongs and manta rays.
Sunsail's Australian base is located on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, where their three-night luxury crewed cruises embark and disembark. Access to Hamilton Island is possible via direct daily flights from most Australian capital cities.
