Kangaroo Island in Luxury, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Kangaroo Island is Australia's third largest island with over 32% of the island conserved in National or Conservation Parks. In the absence of introduced rabbits and foxes, the native wildlife thrives. The island was joined to mainland Australia during the Ice Age. However since then the many native plants and animals which inhabit the island have been isolated making them clearly different from their relatives on the mainland.

Located on the northern coast of Kangaroo Island is LifeTime Private Retreats. Instead of rooms, suites and restaurants clustered together in one location, you have the use of an individual house set on private acreage away from other guests, but still receive all the service of a hotel or resort. There are three houses: Sky House, Cliff House and Stone House. Each house is distinctly different. The Sky House is located right at the tip of a hill and commands glorious views over the coast. It is made of rammed earth and has a Moroccan feel to it. With a large open plan lounge area complete with turntable and collection of vinyl records and just one bedroom, it is the perfect spot for couples. The Stone House has two bedrooms and a spacious lounge / dining area. The Cliff House was originally built in the 1970's but has recently undergone a full refurbishment, however it has retained much of it's original character including a sunken lounge area with open fire and a circular bedroom. The Cliff House overlooks Snelling Beach, where it is quite common to see a pod of dolphins swimming.

LifeTime Retreats specialize in giving their guests some 'life' back. Before guests visit there is an optional questionnaire to fill in asking guests for information on their favourite things so that they can be made more comfortable during their stay.

The 'Full Solstice Package' includes breakfast, lunch and dinner along with all soft drinks, water, tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages. Morning and afternoon tea with fruit and pastries are also included. Some of the activities you can participate in include yoga, kite flying, wildlife watching including kangaroos and koalas, walking, painting, or just enjoying a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner created by your own personal chef wherever you like!
