Jen treks through Tassie to find an amazing spot. To get to Cradle Mountain Lodge you can fly into Devonport, Launceston or Hobart. The lodge offers a scheduled guest transfer service from Devonport (Friday to Monday).

Car rental is available through all major car rental companies in airport or city locations. Cradle Mountain is a spectacular mountain of Jurassic dolerite, its present jagged appearance formed by glaciers which gouged and sculpted it during the last ice age about 10 000 years ago. The mountain rises to 1545 m above sea level in very rugged and mountainous country. Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair World Heritage National Park is one of the largest and most important reserves containing pristine crater catchments with glaciated mountainous landscapes.

A profusion of threatened rare and endemic alpine plants are found in a complex colorful tapestry of vegetation unique only to Cradle Mountain. Cradle Mountain Lodge is a wilderness retreat nestled high in the Tasmanian wilderness of Cradle Mountain- Lake St Clair National Park. The Lodge presents itself as a cosy place to stay with open fires in the Guest's Lounge and in the rooms. To help guests leave the outside world behind, televisions and telephones, are available in the Lodge but not in the guest cabins.
