Tom finds theres a blokey side to Victorias spa capital. Picturesque Daylesford and Hepburn Springs have enjoyed a revival over the past decade as the 'spa centre of Victoria'. But its not all about getting fluffed and buffed here - there are plenty of blokey things to do here as well.
Cricket Willow, is a unique place for cricket fans. The main building has 5 rooms of cricket memorabilia including one of Australia's oldest cricket bats: 175 years old made in the Bendigo gold fields by a cricket loving miner. Here you can also purchase hand made cricket bats, finish off your own bat and test your batting skills in the specially constricted cage.
Victorian Quad Bike Tours take up to 10 people out at a time on quad bike tours of the bush around Daylesford, most of these are narrow bush tracks - not wide enough for cars - so the perfect riding adventure! All the quad bikes are automatic and you must have a current driver's license to ride. 3 hour, 1.5 hour and 1hour tours are available 7 days a week.
Get lost in the 50's Collectables shop, this large, two level shop is located in the main street of Daylesford, and is a haven for anyone who loves to fossick through retro stuff.
There's also Hepburn Springs Golf Club. This picturesque country golf club features a challenging 18- hole course in a bush setting, beautiful vistas and friendly kangaroos.
The course is seldom crowded, and visitors of all standards are welcome. The clubhouse is licensed, and features a covered decking with spectacular views. Clubs, buggies and motorised carts are available for hire. The Springs Retreat is a luxurious hotel right in the heart of Hepburn. It has comfortable rooms, an excellent restaurant and a brand new spa.
