Hey kids, wouldn't you just love to leave mum and dad when you go on holiday!

Or, if you absolutely MUST have them, take them to Malolo Island where they are sure to be occupied by some such boring activity like lazing in the sun or eating or reading...

while YOU on the other hand, get to learn the local language, do some wood carving, husk & paint coconuts, hunt for crabs and then race 'em, learn about the marine ecosystem, dance the Fijian way...... the list goes on...This is all about you!! (but isn't it always?)

Located amongst the archipelago known as the Mamanuca Islands, Malolo Island is situated in a lagoon formed between the Great Sea Reef and the mainland, just 25 kilometres west of Nadi. Malolo is the largest island in the Mamanuca Group and is over 2000 acres with the resort comprising of just 9 acres of the total area. It is ringed by coral sand, palm trees and clear blue lagoons with coral and marine life of every conceivable colour.

Comprising of just 49 bures, the small four star resort here is intimate and the array of facilities makes it perfect for families, and ALL the accommodation is right on the beach!

The resort features two pools, with one especially for families and the other for adults only. Resort facilities also include three restaurants, Leilani's Spa, the brand new Tia's Treehouse kids' club, and the Talei Lounge adult's only retreat.

Malolo offers a wide range of options for those seeking a more active holiday and all guests have access to a number of free activities within the resort.

These include: snorkelling, paddle skiing, sailing, windsurfing, walking trails, beach volleyball, cooking classes and a daily activities program.

Other activities include fishing, parasailing, waterskiing, Island Hopping Tours, Dolphin Spotting Tours and Fijian Village Trips. And what would a trip to Fiji be without some scuba diving?- Enthusiasts from around the globe travel to Fiji to dive in the crystal clear waters surrounding the Mamanuca islands.

But, if you have kids, those days are long gone, right???

Well, not so here on Malolo...you can always sneak away while they're in Tia's Tree house. Malolo has just unveiled their brand new kids club - Tia's Tree house (named after the owners' daughter) and it's heaven for kids who just wanna have fun.

A purpose built bure set back into the hillside under a giant mango tree and surrounded by a fully fenced playground, this place will keep them busy from sunup till sundown and after!

There is plenty of room for the kids and a good selection of games and toys to keep them occupied when inside. But when in Fiji... get outside! The staff like to keep the kids active.

Some of these daily activities include painting, craft, games, fish feeding, crab hunting ( the crabs are trained by the kids and used in the nightly crab races), beach games (egg throwing, egg and spoon races, tug of war), shell collecting, water sports, (banana boats and tube rides), coconut husking, cooking, swimming and treasure hunts.

They also start the day learning some phrases in the local language. At night the kids can eat in the terrace restaurant from 5.30 to 6.30 and then it's off to the kids club for activities or a movie from 7 till 9.

The night time activities include crab hunting, games, movies, crab races on the pool deck and the kids can dress up and join in the fun of the Fijian meke. Supervised kids club is complimentary and for children between the ages of 4 and 12.

Please note however that Tia's Treehouse is not equipped to cater for children under 4 years and a private baby sitting service can be arranged at the Resort.
