LOST in Oahu, Hawaii, USA

Airing Date: May 16th, 2005

Visit the location of TV's hottest castaways - Oahu in Hawaii. Located a few kilometres west of Oahu's North Shore, Mokuleia is where, in the show Lost, the plane crashed in flames in the first episode.

Mokuelia beach comprises of approximately six miles of beach between Kaiaka Bay and Camp Erdman. A few of the activities at Mokuleia Beach Park are beachcombing, body boarding, fishing, snorkelling, surfing, swimming and windsurfing.

A one kilometre walk from the park entrance will lead you to lovely Waihi Falls which flows into a jungle pool. This is where the characters on Lost, Kate and Sawyer, take what they thought would be a refreshing swim, only to come across two bodies in the water.

The verdant Koolau Mountains serve as a stunning backdrop for the valley of Temples Memorial Park, the centrepiece of which is the Bydo-In Temple. This is a majestic replica of a 900-year-old temple of the same name in Uji, Japan. This is the setting for the pre-crash flashback where the characters Sun and Jin first met and began wedding plans.
